Braselton, Georgia is located approximately 49 miles north of downtown Atlanta off I-85. This very quaint, bedroom community was named after Harrison Braselton who was a poor dirt farmer. However, after marrying Susan Hosch, daughter of a rich plantation owner, Harrison Braselton purchased 786 acres north of the Hosch plantation where he built their home. Braselton has changed a lot since its inception. Today Braselton is home to Chateau Elan Winery & Resort with approximately 500,000 visitors annually. And, the Atlanta Riverwalk will soon be a new member of the Braselton community landscape offering specialty shops, fine dining, office space as well as residential living - and, yes. A river will run through it. We also welcomed Northeast Georgia Medical Center/Braselton in 2015 - a state of the art hospital ranked the #1 cardiac hospital in Georgia (part of NE GA Medical/Gainesville). Braselton has continued to grow in popularity and has seen an increased population from 418 in 1990 to 7,511 in 2010 (last census). Our community has embraced the growth - welcoming all those who choose to call Braselton "home" while maintaining a focus on small town values.
